Step 2: Enrolment

Enrolment for Semester 2, 2017

Information about managing your enrolment

At UNSW, you will manage your enrolment online via myUNSW.

You can enrol into your classes after completing Part II of the online acceptance process OR you can log on again later and complete your enrolment at any time up until the relevant enrolment deadline.

Depending on the time of year that you receive your offer there may be a delay between you being able to complete Part I and Part II of the acceptance process. You will not be able to enrol into classes until you have completed Part II of the acceptance process and where applicable your deposit payment has been processed (if applicable).

Please be advised that some class times fill up quickly, therefore you are encouraged to enrol as soon as possible to ensure you get the classes times you want.

  • Check your timetable on myUNSW

How do I ensure I have enrolled into my courses?

The best way to check that you have enrolled successfully into your courses is to check your myUNSW Student Profile tab. Your enrolled courses should be listed under the My Enrolment section on this page.

    Timetable clashes

Occasionally there may be a clash between 2 courses you would like to enrol in, or a course you would like to enrol may be full.

In some cases you may be able to enrol into clashing classes however normally you cannot enrol into a class that is full. If you believe that you have exceptional circumstances you should consult your program authority immediately for advice and assistance

  • Note important key dates for your enrolment

Where can I find important key dates?

You can find important enrolment key dates such as census date, last day to add a course, last day to drop a course without academic penalty on https://student.unsw.edu.au/dates

You will also need to refer to the UNSW Academic Calendar from time to time. https://student.unsw.edu.au/calendar

We suggest that you bookmark both of these links for easy reference.

  • Apply for Change of Name if applicable

Is your name correct on your myUNSW account?

Once you have enrolled into your courses (subjects). Take a few minutes to check that we have your full legal name (as it appears on your official identity documentation, e.g. passport or Australian Drivers Licence) on our records.

    This includes checking that:

    • your middle name/s are included
    • your name is spelt correctly

You will not be able to obtain your student ID card where the name registered on the University’s system does not match your official identity documentation.

For information on how to check and/update your name on University records use this step-by step guide.
